NYC Clothing Bank
Mission
Description NYC Clothing Bank is a nonprofit program that solicits surplus clothing donations from manufacturers and retailers and distributes them to a large network of nonprofit community agencies throughout New York City. Over 85,000 of the city's neediest individuals and families are helped each year, with a total clothing value of over $10 million since opening its doors.
NYC Clothing Bank also serves as a vital stepping-stone to homeless individuals seeking to transform their lives and become productive members of society through rehabilitation and job training. Individuals are taught the basics of inventory control and warehouse management, which leads to marketable job skills and placement in permanent jobs.
