Mission

Description: A food-rescue organization that feeds NYC’s hungry population by collecting excess food from the food industry, including
restaurants, grocers, corporate cafeterias, farms, and manufacturers.

City Harvest delivers this food, free of charge, to more than 600 community food programs throughout NYC using a fleet of 16 trucks and volunteers on foot.

Materials accepted: Food and food rescue (donations of perishable and prepared food maintained at safe temperatures), refrigerators, and freezers.

Materials accepted from: General public, businesses & institutions (50 lbs. or more).
